The Tennessee Titans return home as they host the Washington Redskins.

The Tennessee Titans are just a game out in the AFC South but the problem is they are behind their nemesis, the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans are a statistical oddity as they are third in the NFL in points scored but 31st in passing and 27th in overall yards. Vince Young has been hit hard this year and has found himself injured and has once again reinforced why having an experienced and capable back up QB like Kerry Collins on the roster is so important though Collins will be out for this one. Young should be alright to play this week though it is still a possibility he won’t be ready. Chris Johnson is going to need to really get rolling if he is going to crack his prediction of 2,000 yards as he’s rushed for 838 yards and nine touchdowns. The Titans picked up Randy Moss to enhance the passing game but he caught just one pass in his Tennessee debut as Nate Washington is the primary target with Kenny Britt still out. Stephen Tulloch is the leading tackler for Tennessee with 87 and Michael Griffin is having a big year with 60. Jason Babin has seven sacks and Dave Ball has six and Tennessee has 27 sacks as a team and Griffin leads the team in interceptions with four while Cortland Finnegan and two others have two interceptions each. For the season Tennessee is averaging 26.8 points and 304.9 yards per game while the defense is allowing 19.9 points per game and 350.8 yards.

The Washington Redskins will be looking to regroup after getting absolutely shelled by the most points ever scored by a road team in the first quarter as Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles bombed the Redskins in a game that was essentially over in the first quarter. Donovan McNabb signed a five year contract extension before the game but balls were bouncing off his receivers hands and into the hands of the Eagles players. For the season McNabb has completed 57.1 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions while he has thrown for 2,266 yards he has also been sacked 24 times. Ryan Torain has ran for 391 yards and Keiland Willams got the start last game and he has rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns. Santana Moss has 51 catches for 632 yards and two touchdowns while Anthony Armstrong has 20 catches for 451 yards. Washington has a star caliber defense as LaRon Landry and London Fletcher each have 85 tackles and DeAngelo Hall and Rocky McIntosh have 71 and 67 tackles each as well. Brian Orakpo has seven and a half sacks and Hall has six interceptions. As a team Washington has averaged 20.3 points and 331 yards and he allowed 25.4 points and 415.3 yards per game.

Tennessee is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a favorite of three and a half to 10 points and 0-4 after passing for less than 150 yards their previous game. Washington is 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games as a road underdog, 0-3-1 following a double digit home loss, and 3-1-1 in their last five games against a team with a winning record.

The Redskins will be looking to bounce back in a big way from the disappointment and embarrassment of Monday Night while the Titans can’t afford a loss if they are thinking division title or playoffs. This is going to be a physical game and while we know the Redskins are capable of getting absolutely torched, I think they bounce back and this one is close.
